Purpose & What It Lets You Do
The Visitor Visa (subclass 600) allows you to travel to Australia for tourism, to visit friends/family, or for short-term business visitor activities.
Activities you cannot do: you cannot work in Australia under this visa.
Stay durations: For many applicants, the stay allowed is up to 3 months at a time, though for some cases it may be up to 12 months.
Major Streams of Subclass

Tourist Stream: Holiday travel, sightseeing, visiting friends/family.
Business Visitor Stream: For attending meetings, conferences, negotiations (but still not employment) in Australia.
